An update from your Artistic Director

Dear Florida Rep Friends and Family,

After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to suspend performances at Florida Repertory Theatre. This coming Friday, March 20th the theatre’s two performance spaces will go dark.  Presently, the plan is to remain closed until April 2nd as we continue to monitor the situation regarding the Coronavirus.

Those holding tickets for any of our productions can:

  1. Exchange their seats for a later performance.
  2. Request a high definition video of the plays (currently in process) to be viewed at home.
  3. Request a gift certificate credit for a future production.
  4. Give their ticket to the theatre as a tax-deductible contribution.

I believe that one day soon we will be able to invite you to again take part in the great work at Florida Rep. On behalf of our entire team, we look forward to seeing you! At present our paramount concern is for your health, the health of your loved ones, and all those who make Florida Rep the great regional theatre that it is today.

As you may know, Florida Rep is a not for profit theatre that subsists on ticket sales and the generosity of its patrons.  Sadly, this national emergency has already caused us serious financial consequences.  If you are in a position to donate the price of your ticket to Florida Rep we would be very grateful.  Just contact our box office or better yet email us at Boxoffice@floridarep.org. Thank you in advance for your patience when trying to get through.  If you can find it in your heart to help us at this time with a contribution, in any amount, we would all be very grateful.

Our board, management and Rep staff are confident that we, along with so many others affected, will survive this setback in due time.   If you have any questions or comments, please send an e-mail to Boxoffice@floridarep.org and include your phone number if you would like to be contacted in person.

Thank you for continuing to support us.  We are eternally grateful.  If we band together, I know we can weather this storm.

Most Sincerely,

Greg Longenhagen

Artistic Director
