FORT MYERS, Fla. —Get ready for an offbeat murder mystery that’s full of mistaken identities, six million dollars worth of diamonds, and a corpse in a wheelchair. “Lucky Stiff” is bringing the laughs to the Florida Repertory Theatre from Jan. 7 to Jan. 26.
Actors Kim Morgan Dean, Sam Sherwood, Nicholas Caycedo and Patrick Richwood joined ABC7 to discuss this hilarious musical farce.
Based on the novel, “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo” by Michael Butterworth, “Lucky Stiff” tells the story of English shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon, who learns he’s heir to a distant uncle’s fortune of rare diamonds. He’ll do anything to get his hands on the jewels – even if it means wheeling his uncle’s corpse around Monte Carlo for one last vacation. However, there is a host of shady characters, including a jilted mob wife, a dogged do-gooder, and an optometrist, who are hot on his trail.
You can use promo code “ABC7LUCKY” to save $10 off regular-priced tickets to the Jan. 24 matinee and the Jan. 25 matinee and evening performances of “Lucky Stiff.”
