LOVE AND HATE, SUSPICION AND INTRIGUE ON STAGE AT FLORIDA REP!

FORT MYERS, FL – Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to open the 2015-16 Historic Arcade theatre season with the tantalizing Agatha Christie thriller The Unexpected Guest.

This classic mystery from the author of the world’s longest running play, The Mousetrap plays Oct. 30 to Nov. 18 with four nearly sold-out previews on Oct. 27, 28, and 29.

“We all love a good nail biting murder mystery.” said Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, “This season, we are so proud to open our Historic Arcade Theatre with a classic whodunit that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats wondering whose motive prevails.”

Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a country estate – only to discover he’s stumbled into the scene of a murder. The plot thickens when the dead man’s wife confesses to the crime and begs this unexpected guest to help her get away with murder. Agatha Christie’s classic thriller keeps audiences guessing with terrifying twists and turns!

The Unexpected Guest features a fantastic mix of familiar faces. Ensemble members David Breitbarth (TribesSocial Security), Carrie Lund (One Slight HitchRumors), and Brendan Powers (Around the World in 80 DaysThe Fantasticks) lead the cast, and are joined by Florida Rep veterans Britt Michael Gordon (Tribes), Larry John Meyers (Clybourne Park), and Kate Young (Lend Me a Tenor). 

Florida Rep Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo (Fascinatin’ GershwinVanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) directs the production, and is joined by an expert team of designers including set designer, Bert Scott, costume designer, Stefanie Genda (One Slight Hitch), lighting designer, Joseph P. Oshry (Around the World in 80 Days), sound designer, John Kiselica (Split In Three), and production stage manager, Janine Wochna (Tribes).

Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest plays in the Historic Arcade Theatre Oct. 30-Nov. 18 with discounted previews on Oct. 27 at 8pm, Oct. 28 at 2pm and 8pm, and Oct. 29 at 8pm. Regular performances are Tues-Sat at 8pm with matinees on Wednesday, Sunday, and selected Saturdays.

Priced at $49/$45 and $29/$25 for discounted previews, single tickets are now on sale through the box office at 239-332-4488 and online at www.floridarep.org. Subscriptions for the 2015-2016 season offer the best seats and the biggest savings, and packages start as low as $145 for 6 plays and offer up to 43% off single ticket prices.
