Acting Internships 2025-2026
Each year the Florida Repertory Theatre Education Department auditions and hires six Acting Interns to join our seasonal company. The acting intern company tours three Theatre For Young Audiences productions throughout schools in southwest Florida, and has the opportunity to perform in the mainstage season at Florida Rep. We are looking for well-rounded post-graduate individuals with proficiency in Musical Theatre and Shakespeare performance.
Florida Repertory Theatre attends the South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC) every year and will consider those auditioning at SETC for the acting internship.

Miss Nelson is Missing Book, Music & Lyrics by Joan Cushing
Adapted from the books “Miss Nelson is Missing!” and “Miss Nelson is Back!” by Harry Allard, illustrated by James Marshall

Miss Nelson’s class is the worst-behaved in the whole school. One day, Miss Nelson does not come to school, and the class gets Viola Swamp, a scary substitute who assigns homework from hell. The search is on for Miss Nelson. Hopefully the students of Room 207 will find her before it’s too late – for them! Lessons of respect and appreciation.

Based on Alan Gratz book of the same title. Gratz is the New York Times bestselling author of a number of novels for young readers.
Commissioned by Florida Rep, “Refugee” tells the story of three young refugees and their families fleeing violence at home to find the promise of a better life in America. Electrifying, heartbreaking, and timely, the play follows Josef, a Jewish boy leaving Nazi Germany in 1939, Isabel, a Cuban girl escaping Castro’s regime in 1994, and Mahmoud, a Syrian boy ravaged by the ongoing civil war.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare Adapted by Bill Kinkaid

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and well-known comedies, and follows two sets of young lovers into an enchanted forest. Over the course of one moonlit night, Helena, Hermia, Demetrius, and Lysander fall in and out of love and encounter a cast of improbable characters along the way, including Titania, the queen of the fairies, Bottom, the hapless weaver who’s turned into a Donkey, and Puck, the mischievous sprite responsible for all the mayhem.
