CLASSIC AGATHA CHRISTIE MURDER MYSTERY NOW PLAYING IN FLORIDA REP’S ARCADE THEATRE

FORT MYERS, FL – Florida Repertory Theatre’s 2015-2016 Season is now in full swing with a romantic comedy playing in the intimate ArtStage Studio Theatre and tantalizing murder mystery from the mind of Agatha Christie now open in Florida Rep’s Historic Arcade Theatre.

Playing through Nov. 18, The Unexpected Guest is a thrilling whodunit filled with intrigue, suspense, and chilling plot twists. Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a country estate, only to discover he’s stumbled into the scene of a murder – and everyone has a motive.

“I am so excited to open our Arcade Theatre season with this masterpiece in mystery writing,” said Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, “it’s been more than ten years since we’ve produced an Agatha Christie play, and this one is not to be missed. The cast is first-rate, the set is stunning, and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. The preview audiences have been so wrapped up in trying to solve the crime that we’re actually handing out ballots at intermission so patrons can guess who the killer is. This is not a play you want to miss.

The Unexpected Guest features an all-star Florida Rep cast including Ensemble Members David Breitbarth (TribesSocial Security), Carrie Lund (One Slight HitchRumors), and Brendan Powers (Around the World in 80 DaysThe Fantasticks), as well as Florida Rep regulars Britt Michael Gordon (Tribes), Larry John Meyers (Clybourne Park), Kate Young (Lend Me a Tenor), and Brian Hatch (The Little Foxes, Camping with Henry and Tom). Making their Florida Rep debuts are New York actors and regional theatre veterans Margaret Loesser Robinson and Lou Sumrall.

Florida Rep Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo (Fascinatin’ GershwinDividing the Estate) directs the production, and is joined by an expert team of designers including set designer, Bert Scott (Florida Rep debut), costume designer, Stefanie Genda (One Slight Hitch), lighting designer, Joseph P. Oshry (Around the World in 80 Days), sound designer, John Kiselica (Split in Three), and production stage manager, Janine Wochna (Tribes).

Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest plays in the Historic Arcade Theatre through Nov. 18 with performances Tues-Sat at 8pm with matinees on Wednesday, Sunday, and selected Saturdays.
