Rob Law
is a percussionist, educator, and composer based in Southwest Florida, known for his versatility across concert, jazz, theatrical, and marching idioms. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he serves as Principal Percussionist for the Wind Orchestra and has also held principal roles in the Symphonic Band. In March 2025, Rob performed with the FGCU Wind Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. As a performer, Rob has appeared with a wide range of ensembles, including the Naples Concert Band, Gulf Coast Symphony, FGCU Top Flight Jazz Big Band, jazz combos, percussion ensembles, and theatrical productions with The Naples Players. He is a former member of STRYKE Percussion, a WGI Independent World Class ensemble, where he earned the Fan Favorite Award in 2018. His performance experience spans orchestral, wind band, jazz, and contemporary percussion settings, reflecting a broad and adaptable musical voice. Rob is also an accomplished educator and designer with nearly a decade of experience in secondary music education. From 2017 to 2025, he served as Percussion Coordinator at North Fort Myers High School, where he designed marching percussion programs, composed original materials, and led the indoor percussion ensemble to multiple FFCC medals and historic competitive achievements, including the school’s first appearance in FMBC Finals. He has additionally worked as a percussion coordinator, technician, and arranger for several Southwest Florida programs. In recognition of his work, Rob has received numerous honors, including FFCC gold, silver, and bronze medals, USBANDS National Championships, and the John Philip Sousa Award. He is endorsed by Vic Firth, Zildjian Cymbal Company, and Balter Mallets. Rob remains deeply committed to music education, ensemble excellence, and meaningful musical experiences, balancing high-level performance with thoughtful teaching, leadership, and creative design.
