Gys de Villiers*
was born in South Africa and immigrated to the USA in 2015 becoming a US Citizen in 2023. His career in includes over 58 theatre productions, 23 feature films, 17 television series (including 11 leads), 12 long running soap operas, directed 12 theater productions, wrote 7 original plays, one feature film and loves sculpting. He also bakes sourdough bread. In the US, he has added over 156 feature films, short films, adverts, corporate videos, web series, music videos and plays to his resume. Some Career Highlights include: Playing FW De Klerk opposite Idris Elba in Mandela Long Walk to Freedom, DS. Smith opposite the late Paul Walker in Vehicle 19, The Director in Ray Donovan The Movie, The Stick by Darryll Roodt, Rabbi Benjamin in The Chosen, Captain Fall on Netflix and Difficult People. Saturnine opposite Sir Anthony Sher in Titus Andronicus at the National Theater in London. He danced Duncan in Sleep No More, Alistair in Reparations at the Billie Holiday Theater. National Aquila theater tour of Hamlet (Claudius) and Sense and Sensibility (Col. Brandon). Gys was a contestant on Survivor Paradise Island 2009 where he won a Volvo XC 60. He has won over 15 awards – the latest being two-time Best Actor in a short at: The International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Nice, also Southern States Indie Fanfilmfest 2017 for his role in: It Gets Better. Gys is a certified Yoga instructor and teaches at various facilities in NYC.
