is happy to be back at Florida Rep where he previously directed Dinner with Friends.  His 2018 Off Broadway production of Hindle Wakes received a Drama Desk nomination for Best Revival. The Wall Street Journal put his production of Anouilh’s Antigone on its 10 Best List. In the regions, he has directed at Merrimack Rep (This Verse Business with Gordon Clapp), Goodspeed, Ford’s Theatre (Trying with James Whitmore), Geva (Pitz and Joe with Josh Brolin), the Asolo (12th Night, Best Production Handy Award and Sarasota Magazine Award), the Philadelphia Theatre Company, and the Coconut Grove Playhouse (About Time with Theodore Bikel). From 1996 to 2020 he was the Artistic Director of New Hampshire’s Peterborough Players, where he returned this summer to direct Ben Butler and act in Noises Off, Deathtrap and Man Of La Mancha (with Scott Bakula). Other awards include two NYSCA grants, the Lecomte du Nouys Playwriting Award, a MacDowell Fellowship, ten New Hampshire Best Director Awards, and the James Thurber Fellowship. He recently appeared in Stephen Fechters’ The Memory Exam in NYC at 59E59, and was seen in Tommy Tune’s American premiere production of Cloud 9, Equus (OBC) with Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton, and The Country Girl with Hal Holbrook. He co-starred on PBS in Paul’s Case, appeared on Law & Order Criminal Intent, and had recurring roles on ABC’s All My Children and One Life to Live. He received Vermont’s Bessie Award for Best Actor for his Richard III at the Lost Nation Theatre.
