Ezra Barnes*
is making his Florida Rep debut. Off Broadway appearances include Breakfast with Mugabe (a NY Times Critics’ Pick nominated for Best Play by the Off-Broadway Alliance), Atticus in To Kill a Mockingbird (Queens Theatre in the Park), In White America (New Federal), and Far and Wide (Mint). Regional appearances: Portland Stage (the title role in Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure), McCarter, Geva, Hartford Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse, Denver Center, Pioneer Theatre (under Chuck Morey’s direction), Paper Mill and others. TV: New Amsterdam, Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, The Sinner, Bored to Death, Law & Order, SVU, Blue Bloods and the hit YouTube series Group, an innovative show about a therapy group. Film: Motherless Brooklyn, Unintended, Noah, Joshua, Once More with Feeling. Ezra was awarded the Connecticut Critic’s Circle Award for Outstanding Direction for his production of Diary of Anne Frank at Playhouse on Park. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Connecticut’s Shakespeare on the Sound festival, and led the company for thirteen seasons. Ezra is a resident of Brooklyn, NY, where he runs the Young Actors Workshop.
Ezra plays the character DR. JAMES SHEPPARD who is the narrator of the story and King’s Abbot’s local doctor is smart, affable, and a good storyteller. The doctor can be heard making somewhat sarcastic observations but claims to detest interfering in others’ affairs
