Carol Halstead*
has worked on and off Broadway and extensively in regional theatre around the country. At Florida Rep you may remember her from The Importance of Being Earnest, Into the Breeches, and Native Gardens. This past year Carol was the standby for both Patti Lupone and Mia Farrow in the Broadway production of The Roommate. Other roles include: The National Tour of CS Lewis’s The Great Divorce, Driving Miss Daisy, Ouiser in Steel Magnolias, Doris in Pocatello, Margaret Quinn in the world premiere adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s Winter Street, Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Nora in A Doll’s House, Part 2, Dotty in Noises Off, Masha in Vanya, Sonia, Masha, & Spike, Barbara in August: Osage County, Hallie in Buried Child, Amanda in Private Lives, Tamora in Titus Andronicus, Lady Macbeth. Theatres include The Denver Center Theatre Company, The Old Globe, The Shakespeare Theatre Company D.C., Baltimore’s CenterStage, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Barrington Stage, Chautauqua Theatre Company, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Portland Center Center Stage, Kansas City Rep, Syracuse Stage, Dorset Theatre Festival, Gulfshore Playhouse, Orlando Shakespeare, San Jose Rep. and others. Carol lives in New York City where she trains as a 4th degree black belt in Seido Karate. She is a graduate of Florida State Univ. & San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre.
