Alia Shakira*
Trained at Howard University’s College Fine Arts (BFA), The British American Drama Academy, and Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Alia Shakira is an accomplished storyteller and academic with a diverse background. Originally from Washington DC, Alia has lived in several artistic hubs including Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York. There she cultivated her skill set, earning a Master of Science in Entertainment Business while working on a number of highly successful television programs and indie films. Most recently, Alia was a company member at the Utah Shakespeare Festival and appeared in The Mountaintop, Silent Sky, Antony and Cleopatra, and Steel Magnolias. Her theater credits include, Horizon Theater in Atlanta, as Makeda in The House that Will Not Stand, The Alliance Theatre-GA, New Federal Theatre-NY, Metropolitan Playhouse-NY, TheatreWorks-Tour, and The National Black Theatre Festival.
