About Florida Repertory Theatre
Michael Marotta**
DIRECTOR

proudly returns to Florida Rep where he has been a visiting artist since its inception. He directed here on the mainstage during that very first season with The Decorator. Soon after he took the position of Artistic Director at The Theater Barn in the Berkshires, a title he held for 10 years. He returned to acting, appearing in dozens of regional theaters (Cincinnati Playhouse, The Rep of St. Louis, Tennessee Shakes, STAGES St. Louis, The MUNY, the Signature Theater in NYC, Cincinnati Pops, and Florida Studio among others) and returned here in last season’s ArtStage hit, Tenderly: The Rosemary Clooney Musical, playing everyone who wasn’t Rosemary, and in Cabaret on the mainstage. Favorite Florida Rep directorial credits include I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti! and A Grand Night for Singing – The Music of Rodgers & Hammerstein. A NYC native, winner of 2 MAC Awards & 3 BACKSTAGE Bistro Awards, Michael is currently visiting your living rooms nightly as the Eliquis Hero of 2019.
