About Florida Repertory Theatre
is an Ensemble Member now in fifteenth season with Florida Rep, currently serving as the company’s Associate Artistic Director. His directing credits with Florida Rep include: Million Dollar Quartet, Steel Magnolias, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Christmas Story, The Fantasticks, Tru, intern showcases [title of show], and The Shape of Things, as well as The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Curious George: The Golden Meatball, Miss Nelson is Missing, the world-premiere commission of Journey to Oz, Schoolhouse Rock Live, How I Became a Pirate, The New Kid, and The Mischief Makers for Florida Rep’s Theatre for Young Audience Series. An advocate for new work, Parrish created Florida Rep’s PlayLab Festival of New Works and Emerging Voices in 2014, and as its Artistic Director has produced 32 play readings over the past six years – including Alabaster. The festival has commissioned two works for young audiences and led to the production of six world premiere or regional premiere productions – including Alabaster. Jason’s over thirty appearances on Florida Rep stages include: Cabaret, How the Other Half Loves, Over the River and Through the Woods, The Dingdong, Twelve Angry Men, Around the World in 80 Days, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Clybourne Park, Greetings, Miracle on South Division Street, Noises Off, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, 2014’s nationally acclaimed production of Arsenic and Old Lace, and six years in David Sedaris’ one-man-show, The Santaland Diaries. Jason’s work with other theatres as an actor and director includes Actors’ Playhouse (Miami), Riverside Theatre (Vero Beach), Theatre by the Sea & Ocean State Theatre Company (Rhode Island), and guest appearances with the New York Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concert Series at Lincoln Center. Jason is a proud member of Stage Directors & Choreographer’s Society and Actors’ Equity Association.
