Classes
Florida Rep's Education Department offers theatre classes in the fall, winter and spring that are open to community members of all ages. These classes allow Florida Rep professionals to share their wealth of experience with those who are eager to learn more about theatre. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: improvisation, theatre games, movement, acting for youth, acting for adults and stage makeup. Specialized classes are also offered for home school families as well as parent organizations and playgroups.

Motion Explosion
Ages 4 –7
Children in this exciting 6-week class will explore the wonders of movement and physical expression. It will boost confidence and exercise imagination through techniques of dance, improvisation and theatre.

Clowning Around
Ages 8 –12
Guaranteed to awaken the performer in everyone, students in this workshop will learn to juggle! Led by professional performer Adam Trummel, students will explore techniques of physical comedy, improvisation and other stage skills.

Adult Acting: Audition Workshop
Ages 18 & Up
Students will learn how to put together their own performance, by finding or creating scenes and performing them. Taught by veteran Broadway Union actor and Florida Rep favorite, Carol A. Provonsha, actors of all levels of experience are sure to expand their range and develop creative potential.

Creative Characters
Ages 4 –7
Children will travel to the world of make believe and transform into fun and imaginative characters. This class will incorporate techniques of story-telling, improvisation and comedy to introduce children into the performing arts.

Teen Scenes
Ages 11 –17
This class will keep any teen on top of their game. Students will use the fundamentals of improvisation, sketch comedy, ensemble pieces and monologues to create their own workshop performance for the final class. This workshop also features guest appearances from the Florida Rep Acting Interns to answer questions about starting a career in theatre.

Adult Acting: Scene Study
Ages 14 & Up
This class is an opportunity for teens and adults to “come out and play” and is perfect for experienced performers as well as beginners. Students will learn how to interpret scripts, choose and develop characters using voice, movement and improvisation and build confidence doing it.
