Florida Repertory Theatre is a fully professional theatre company serving all of Southwest Florida, and is now in its 19th season as an ensemble-based, artist-driven organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $3 million. Florida Rep operates on an LOA/LORT D contract with Actors Equity, and works with members of both United Scenic Artists and the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers. Performing in the Historic Arcade Theatre (a 393-seat proscenium house) and the newly-renovated ArtStage Studio (a 120-seat adaptable black box), Florida Rep produces a wide variety of comedies, dramas and musicals, and brings more than 80,000 people to the Fort Myers River District annually throughout its October to May season. Florida Repertory Theatre is seeking a Development Associate to join our nationally recognized professional theatre entering our 20th season. We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Development Associate to help organize, administrate, and execute important fundraising events, manage and fulfill sponsor agreements, organize annual donor appeals, develop and write donor acknowledgments, donor recognition, and cultivation materials, manage reports from our donor database, and assist in grant cultivation and writing. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will work closely with donors, sponsors, and patrons as well as colleagues. A college degree in a relevant field is required and significant experience in each area of responsibility is requested. The ideal candidate will have a background in theater and exhibit excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work well with deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proven track record in managing fundraising events is requested, preferably with specific experience in Arts and Culture. Night & weekend hours periodically required. Florida Repertory Theatre seeks a Company Manager to join our nationally recognized theatre entering our 20th season. The Company Manager will act as the primary local contact for seasonal staff & guest artists (actors & design teams). Position works closely with the General Manager and Associate Director for Casting to provide for guest artist needs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Making travel arrangements.
- Arranging & Managing company housing, including move-ins and outs.
- Ensuring that housing meets all contractual requirements and managing housing inventory.
- Providing hospitality assistance to guest artists.
- Preparing & completing required employment documents and contracts for guest artists.
- Coordinating guest artist needs with stage management, including travel to and from shops, rehearsal studios, and other special occurrences.
- Overseeing maintenance and assignment of company vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a background in theater and exhibit great hospitality skills along with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work well with deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Marketing Intern (nine-month contract)
Florida Rep is seeking a marketing intern for their 20th anniversary season. This position will be responsible for general record-keeping, press releases, creating media kits and guest artist packs, managing aspects of social media pages and digital assets, and assisting the Marketing Manager and Digital Media Specialist in daily operations, in addition to front-of-house duties.
The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a bachelor degree in theatre or marketing, with a passion for Theatre Administration, and excellent time management skills. Adobe Creative Suite knowledge recommended, but not required.
Fully-furnished housing is provided along with the weekly $175/Week stipend. Personal vehicle strongly recommended. This is a full-time, nine-month contract from August 28, 2017-May 28, 2018. Nights and Weekends Required. Start Date Flexible.
Florida Repertory Theatre seeks Costume/Wardrobe Internship Candidates for its 20th Anniversay Season.
Costume/Wardrobe Interns work in the Costume Shop in all aspects of costume production throughout the season. Interns will be exposed to guest artists and designers throughout the season gaining opportunities to work and learn alongside in a collaborative environment. Costume/Wardrobe Interns assist our visiting guest costume designers and in-house costume staff. Primary responsibilities include tasks in garment construction, executing alterations, assisting in shop duties, attending fittings, wardrobe show assignments and show maintenance. Opportunities in Wig Styling and Maintenance, Costume Design Assisting, and Costume Crafts available as well on a show by show basis. Applicants must be hard-working, self-motivated, well organized, possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be independent, and focused during overlapping costume production needs and builds.
