Florida Repertory Theatre is a fully professional theatre company serving all of Southwest Florida and is now in its 20th anniversary season as an ensemble-based, artist-driven organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $4 million. Florida Rep operates on a LOA/LORT D contract with Actors Equity and works with members of both United Scenic Artists and the Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers. Performing in the Historic Arcade Theatre (a 393-seat proscenium house) and the newly renovated ArtStage Studio (a 120-seat adaptable black box), Florida Rep produces a wide variety of comedies, dramas, and musicals, and brings more than 87,000 people to the Fort Myers River District annually throughout its September to May season. Reporting to the Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director, the General Manager of Finance and Administration will implement the infrastructure and systems needed to support strategic objectives. S/he will be responsible for oversight of finance, accounting, information technology, human resources, communications, infrastructure and junior staff management in front of house, company management, and business office. As a member of the senior management team, the General Manager will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives. With the Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director, General Manager will act as a primary liaison to the board of directors’ Treasurer and Finance Committee to strengthen the theatre’s financial position and other items as required. With the Director of Development, the General Manager will prepare grant applications and project budgets; provide financial management of grants awarded; and take a leadership position regarding special events and fundraising.
The General Manager will have 5-plus years of experience, with at least three years managing the finance and administration of a $3 million to $5 million organization. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience is required, with the preference for an advanced degree recipient or CPA. A love for the performing arts is essential. We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Development Associate to help organize, administrate, and execute important fundraising events, manage and fulfill sponsor agreements, organize annual donor appeals, develop and write donor acknowledgments, donor recognition, and cultivation materials, manage reports from our donor database, and assist in grant cultivation and writing. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will work closely with donors, sponsors, and patrons as well as colleagues. A college degree in a relevant field is required and significant experience in each area of responsibility is requested. The ideal candidate will have a background in theater and exhibit excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work well with deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Florida Repertory Theatre is seeking a recent college graduate who is interested in serving as an intern and providing a wide range of administrative, digital and social media, and general support to our marketing development team. In return, FL Rep will provide an opportunity for the intern to gain experience in and familiarity with areas such as press releases, asset management, advertising campaign tracking, and the day-to-day operations of a non-profit theatre. The Marketing Intern will report to the Marketing Manager and will support the entire marketing team.
Specific responsibilities include general record-keeping, crafting press releases, creating media kits and guest artist packs, managing aspects of social media pages and digital assets, and assisting the Marketing Manager and Digital Media Specialist in daily operations, in addition to front-of-house duties. A firm commitment of up to 60 hours per week is required- night & weekend hours periodically required. This is a seasonal opportunity with flexible start date, ideally August.Fully-furnished housing is provided along with the weekly $175/Week stipend. Personal vehicle strongly recommended. Costume/Wardrobe Interns work in the Costume Shop in all aspects of costume production throughout the season. Interns will be exposed to guest artists and designers throughout the season gaining opportunities to work and learn alongside in a collaborative environment. Costume/Wardrobe Interns assist our visiting guest costume designers and in-house costume staff. Primary responsibilities include tasks in garment construction, executing alterations, assisting in shop duties, attending fittings, wardrobe show assignments and show maintenance. Opportunities in Wig Styling and Maintenance, Costume Design Assisting, and Costume Crafts available as well on a show by show basis. Applicants must be hard-working, self-motivated, well organized, possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be independent, and focused during overlapping costume production needs and builds.
